The protection of utility items by means of industrial drawings and designs is regulated in Costa Rica by the Patent Statute (Law of Invention Patents, Industrial Drawings and Models, and Utility Models) No. 6867 of April 25, 1983. The registration of an industrial drawing or design has a validity of 10 years.
